Ollie Update

You need an Oliver update.  Because I haven't told you about him for a couple days and I know you've been wondering.  {right?}

Well - Last Sunday Oliver was 12 weeks old.  I threw a party with balloons and everything.  No - I didn't, but I did take a picture to see how much he has grown.  He will be 3 months this coming Monday!  Yes, I know 12 weeks should equal 3 months, but it doesn't.  Don't ask me.  Maybe I should have balloons then - the non-popping kind.  Is that possible?  He doesn't love loud noises.  Also music really puzzles him, but he likes when I get up and dance around the room to the music.  So I think music will grow on him.

Check out the size of this GIANT puppy.
Yes, those are puppy nose marks on the door.... woopsie.

Oliver has been a very spoiled puppy lately.  Well not lately - his whole life actually.  What do you expect from 2 childless adults - one of whom works at home?  He gets a lot of attention.
Case in point {I know we have talked about this before, but it should be point and case.  I prove my point and win the case... right?}

I let him on the couch.

We were having a little downtime and he looked sad on the floor all alone.  So I pulled him up.  Because I am a sucker and he is really cute.  We still don't ALLOW him on the couch or on the bed, but those eyes got the best of me.  He sat there for a while like he owned the town, or at least the house.  It was adorable.

Plus he was so excited he was all about giving me a big fat kiss.  I still have mixed feelings about dog kisses on my face.

We went running.  He ran one block.  I was so proud of him!  He is used to walking 2 blocks and just running down the street home, so running the whole block was a huge step!  I have no doubt he will be a good running dog!  When we got home he laid on the cool floor just like this.  He was basically saying, "Listen lady, I just ran an entire block for you and I am really hot and tired. Scratch my belly."  And I did.

Oliver went to Oregon with us last Saturday for a training we had to attend.  The meeting was 2 hours and we thought we would just park in the shade and leave him in the bed of the truck with some water and toys until we were done.  {I know, this sounds totally insane looking back}.  We toyed with the thought of putting his leash on him and tying it to the back of the truck, but then decided that if he decided to jump out - which we KNEW he wouldn't cause he won't even jump off the couch and still barks at the stairs - but just in case he did, we didn't want the chance of hanging himself.  I went out to check on him about half way through and he was sleeping like a baby.  I was relived.  UNTIL - I walked out to the parking lot at the end of the meeting to get him out.  I walked up to the truck and did a serious double take.  There was a dog sitting next to the tire of the truck!  Not just A dog OUR dog!!  He had jumped out and there he was sitting in the parking lot.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME? {No, I am not}.  We should be fired. Of course at that point everything that possibly could have gone wrong was flooding my head. But it didn't, he was perfectly fine and happy to see me.  I guess he just got hot.

Lastly, I know I have said a billion times that he is the smartest dog in the world - but seriously people.  He can come, sit, shake with both paws and lay down!!!  Lay down was really hard for us.  That one has taken a week or so to master, but with a good brain and enough treats anything is possible.

Please enjoy the video we made for you.  Have I mentioned that Oliver loves his picture taken?
Yeah - this is him barking at me because I think he wanted the camera off.  I didn't know dogs were so opinionated.

Now to the video...

Don't you love how he just slides his bum down.  So cute. Now that we have lay down mastered, I think we will work on stay.  And then what.... high five?!

Aunt Sue said: A wonderfully smart dog and equally smart "parents" for training him to be so grand. Love to all.
