Hair Cut

The first thing you should know is Oliver got a haircut.  We LOVED his shaggy long puppy hair. LOVED it.  But he was hot and miserable.  Watching your panting dog lay on the wood floor next to the nearest door, all the time, makes you feel a little bad.  Ben went out of town and begged me to cut Oliver while he was gone.  My answer was basically that there was no way I was ready to lose the puppy O.  Well, he left and I knew it needed to happen.  Oliver and I scheduled hair appointments on the same day. We might as well both get pampered in the process!

I tried to get ONE LAST SHOT before we walked into the groomer.  When I stopped to take the picture Ollie laid right down on the floor.  See, hot.

We have this groomer, LeAnn, I LOVE her.  She has done all of Ollie's puppy trims and cleanings.  She is awesome and best of all Oliver loves her too.  She already knew my hesitancy about cutting his hair so she made sure I had enough "long" puppy pictures and described everything she would do.  She really is fantastic.  She makes me want to be a dog groomer.  As I left the room my eyes filled with tears, which I immediately tried to I push back. This is typical anytime I leave him actually.  Still. I know, I am crazy.  At least I have enough control these days not to walk through an airport bawling.  Thank goodness.

A few hours later LeAnn called to say he was done.  When I walked in the room Oliver ran toward me and the tears started again.  He looked all grown up and so adorable!  I loved it, and better than that he LOVES it.  Sans hair, this little guy is skinny and ALL legs! He has beautiful hair that seriously looks like a mix between suede and carpet.

He is really soft and very cuddly.  He loves to be right next to us all. the. time.  Which I love.

 Hairy Oliver would sit with us for a minute and then find somewhere cooler to lay.  Trim Oliver has now decided that our bed is his bed, which he has never done before, so we constructed a wonderful bed next to ours for him.  We are all learning.

When we finally picked Ben up at the airport from a long week away he claimed to not be THAT surprised.  He said he knew I would decide to take the leap.  I guess I am too predictable, but we are all glad I did.

{side note: I LOVE this picture.}

Oliver looks like he's in heaven lying in your bed. He's a handsome boy with his hair cut.
