Our lives via iPhone

Things have been a bit crazy lately.  Luckily we have iphones to document our lives when all else fails.  Seriously, what would we do without a tiny little camera on hand at all times?  We would have to take film to get developed... and heaven knows that wouldn't happen.  It would be like that roll of film I have from middle school sitting in a box.  I have no idea what is on it.  Thank goodness for life in a digital era.

That sweet hubby of mine was sick for weeks.  He was feverish and coughing and working all through the misery.  Sad, sad.  We gave my immune system a big high five for holding up during the infestation of germs. Just when he began to feel better he became itchy and uncomfortable.  We looked at what we thought was a rash for a couple days.  Then we decided to google.  That my friends was not a rash, it was shingles.  Oh man!  He went straight to the doctor.  Both our minds went straight to this unborn child being carried by a mother who has never had chicken pox. Turns out he isn't as contagious as you might think, and I am immune to chicken pox.  Another immune system high five.  But this poor guy is just miserable.  Itchy and in pain and miserable.  It doesn't stop him though, I don't think much does.  You might think his shingles were caused by the crazy decision to go BIG during this nesting phase.  I like to think it's his 70+ hour crazy work weeks. Either way, I hope he feels better soon.

Since I mentioned it, let's talk about our house that is in crazy disarray.  Like whoa.  This wasn't mean to last longer than 2 weeks.  We are going on 4 weeks and slowly getting all the rooms painted and put together.  Last week we had QUITE a "FUN" time with these stripes in the nursery.  They look fantastic and I can already picture our little man in there.  Getting to fantastic was a nightmare and it's safe to say I would be fine to never walk into a home depot as long as I live.  Ben says home depot gave him shingles.  Do you think that would hold up in court?  Seriously though, next time I want to do stripes I may be on my own.

The preggy friends had dinner together a week before Shannon was due with little Milo.  So fun for all of us to be in this stage together.  Deneal is 6 weeks behind Shannon, I am 6 weeks behind Deneal.  It's like we planned this perfectly.

Speaking of which, Milo came on January 8th.  He is perfect and adorable.  He has the cutest little dimples that make you want to eat his cheeks.  Shannon, Dan and especially Piper couldn't be prouder.

I am past 26 weeks now and still haven't posted my 26 week picture.  I will, I promise. Our little guy is doing a great job of growing and I finally feel like I look pregnant. It's a party in my uterus  ALL THE TIME!  This little boy knows how to move and I love it.  It's so fun to watch my belly bounce up and down as he punches me.  I really think I will miss the being pregnant stage, it's such a special time.

Our little babe waving hello or winding up to punch me.  One or the other.

We got a tiny bit of snow in the Northwest at the first of the year!  Have you ever seen someone from the pacific northwest when snow hits the ground?  It is kind of like gold falling from the sky.  People go crazy, even if it is just one inch.  Oliver enjoyed every second.

Finally, our 2013 motto.  Live Simply.  I colored our very own chalkboard to help us remember.  I am not sure this nesting phase falls well into living simply, but I feel like these 2 little words are such a great reminder to be grateful for all we have.

Happy 2013 from our little family of 3.  Soon to be a family of 3 boys and a mama that loves all those boys more than anything.
