Triple T Number 3

Three Tangent Tuesday!!  Three things about you, your life, or things you have been dying to say....
Ready.
GO!

1.  This is Heidi.  Heidi and I have known each other since we were snotty little 8th graders sitting in US History class not so secretly dis-liking each other.  In 10th grade we had the same crush and soon became great friends.  Heidi creates and crafts with the best of them.  She owns a jewelery business where she creates her own pieces.  Her talent is amazing and I strongly urge you to check out her  blog and be inspired by her restoration of old furniture, cute outfits and awesome jewelery!

2.  My primary kids are the best!  A month and a half ago you would not have heard me say this.  A month and a half ago when I was called to be a primary teacher to seven 5-year-old boys I was practically in tears. {In our church a Primary teacher is like a Sunday School teacher who teaches ages 3 - 12.}  I work from home, was new to the area and I wanted so badly to be called to a position where I could meet friends my age.  I am not a mother, a person proven to be successful at child rearing, or even incredibly patient for that matter.  I was sure it would be a miserable calling.  The first couple weeks there were tears, fighting, and loud {really loud} talking.  I swear that was from the boys and not me! :-)  I left church exhausted and not excited for the upcoming week just to do it all over again.  I decided to change my attitude.  I decided I wanted to succeed, I wanted them to succeed, I wanted to be a good teacher.  Everything changed. I saw these energetic boys as God's children.  I saw them as smart, full of life boys that I really wanted to help and get to know.  I have gone to church for the past month excited to see these boys.  I have gone to church excited to teach them about Jesus Christ, I have gone to church excited to hear about their week.  It changed our class.  Now we dance out our wiggles and talk about our families. I enjoy preparing for them and love seeing them learn. Don't get me wrong, there are still tears, outbursts and rules, but we manage and truly enjoy each other.   One of my boys, Sam, gave me this Valentine this past Sunday.  He was so excited to give me his NERD Valentine and his big hug melted my heart.
I truly love these kids.  Plus, 5 year old boys say the funniest things!  Ben walked into class the other day and I hear, "Sister Walunas, your dad is here!"

3.  My hair is getting very long.  You should be impressed.
We have gone from this shorty short:

To this medium-weird-stage-kinda-flat hair:
I would like to thank my billions of vitamins that I overdose on every day in order to get to my goal of pulling my hair into a real ponytail.  We made it people.
