1. WE GOT A KITCHENAID MIXER! We have debated this decision since we got married and I all of a sudden liked baking. Every time Ben would offer to mix something because he could tell my arm was tired he would ask if I wanted one. I would hum and haw and then decide I was okay without it and that building mixing muscles in my right arm was my ultimate goal in life anyway. The other night we decided to go look at them, for the billionth time. On the way over we talked about what color we would get and all the yummy treats I could make danced through my head. By the time we walked in the store I was sold. We are the now proud owners of an ice blue KitchenAid Mixer!
I love everything about this thing! Besides the fact that it is really heavy and I was about to fall over in the above picture. It makes cookie making and mixing in ingredients at the perfect time a cinch. I should get paid for all this awesome promotion.... Decision well made.
2. The last few days have been so incredibly beautiful here. Reminding us that the lawn was starting to look a bit scraggly. On Monday I thought it would be such a fun surprise for Ben to come home to a beautifully mowed lawn. But after about 15 mins of pulling the cord and no roaring of a ready engine I got frustrated sure my neighbors were wondering what the world the girl across the street in running clothes and flip flops was trying to accomplish. I rolled the mower back in the garage. When Ben got home I told him my troubles and he walked outside and started it right up. Of course. I must have warmed it up for him. I told him not to mow, now I was determined. Today, I decided to try again. I put back on my flip flops and running clothes and gave the mower a big tug and it fired right up!!
See the straggly lawn... I tried to follow the husbands perfect lines. Mine weren't so great. But I would like to present to you my FIRST ever mowed by myself lawn...
Yep, first time. Mowing the lawn wasn't on the Amber's list of things to do growing up. But don't you even worry, I even did the back yard!
Ben was so excited when he came home to the lawn was already mowed. Now come over to my house and enjoy the freshly cut grass before it's time to be mowed all over again!!
3. My favorite holiday is just around the corner. I few years ago I re-discovered Easter for the miracle that it truly is and my love for the holiday far surpassed the love for any before it. Even Thanksgiving and my birthday which were two very hard to beat. As we inch closer to Easter Sunday I pray that we recognize Jesus Christ in our lives, for he is not dead...

1. love the ice blue!!! great choice. my mom got us one when we got married... and I'm ashamed to admit that I have yet to use it!!! I'm so used to just grabbing a mixing spoon and going to town. I need to use it..
2. the lawn looks gorgeous! I haven't mowed a lawn in years, props.
3. thank you for this reminder, I love that printable and this wonderful holiday to remember our Savior.
xoxo!!!
I mowed the lawn yesterday too! It took most of the day due to having to take time outs to feed Miss K. It felt sooo good to be outside. Thank goodness Matt isn't too fussy about the 'lines' in the lawn. I sure didn't get that talent in the family (hahaha).
Jealous of your mixer too. So so cute. It's got to make baking more fun!
Hey I mowed our lawn the other day too. Go Girls! And we have a red kitchen aide and I really love it. So, now you need to post some of the recipes you try out. I AM NOT A BAKER! So, any suggestions I get are super wonderful!
That is the cutest kitchen aid mixer I have ever seen! I'm a bit jealous! Mine is plain old white!
