I love the fall-ness of the holiday. The cool crisp air. The leaves, the sweaters and jackets and scarves. Yes, even the rain is a nice touch. Plus, I can always use an extra push to actually voice what I am thankful for. An excuse to eat doesn't hurt either.
As a kid, our family always gathered together with my dear Grandparents and my Mom's brothers and sisters and their families. We have a small(ish) family and there were only 5 of us cousins who lived close enough to come. We would rotate houses, help cook (ie. snack while someone else is cooking) and every year we looked forward to spending the whole day together. This will be my 2nd Thanksgiving away from the annual tradition, but lucky for me my parents decided to join us in Washington this year!
I bet they can't wait to meet their new grand-dog. My, how he has already grown. I know Mr. O can't wait to be kissed and loved by them. He is a sucker for attention.
I am so excited to cook at our house and have a big combined Walunas-North thankful party!
The shopping is done and the turkey is thawing. I really can't wait. It's sad when traditions change, but I am grateful for the addition of new ones. Although we will miss those too far to travel, we are so very grateful for the time we have to spend together with family!
Wishing you a happy, safe and warm Thanksgiving. We hope it's lick your chops good!!

Thank you Bethany, we sure love you!

Love the new pictures. Bethany really takes great pictures. Love the scarf of Oliver ( such a little man).
Um...I better not have to find out from your blog next time your parents are in town. You are in serious trouble. That picture of the dog licking his lips is super funny and almost makes up for it...almost. Happy Thanksgiving!
What a good looking family! Oliver is a sweetheart.
Happy Thanksgiving!
