We spent Friday at the beach, more on that later, and Saturday and Sunday with family and friends.
I LOVE Easter. Love it. It's my favorite holiday of all time.
Being my favorite holiday has nothing to do with eggs, bunnies and baskets and all to do with the fact that Jesus Christ was sacrificed and rose again breaking the bands of death for all of us. Its such a re-birth time of year that no doubt is meant to correlate with this remarkable feat carried out by our older brother. While I am a die hard autumn lover, this very time of year takes me by amazement and gratitude every year. I Love Easter.
In true dog-motherly spirit I couldn't let the holiday pass without an egg-hunt of sorts. We had Simba, Tim and Deneal over on Saturday and I thought this would be the perfect time for our hunt. I found super cute raw hides in adorable Easter shapes. They even had sticks that we could poke into the ground! Ben and I hid the treats and let the dogs loose in the back yard to hunt. They found all of them although I think they were a bit confused why I would get so excited for them to find it and immediately rip it out of their mouth to find another.
Easter morning that fantastic bunny came and left some treats. That guy is GREAT and somehow knew exactly what we needed! :) Oliver got some blueberry biscuits that smell so yummy I ALMOST want to eat them.
While I tried to explain to that fantastic little dog that we don't celebrate Easter for gifts he paid close attention. I LOVE how he tilts his head as I am talking to him. It's like he is really trying to figure out what I am saying. How can you not want to kiss that face.
