chalkboard

Growing up I had a dream.  I wanted to be the person who drew on the windows.  You know, the store front windows that get all festive and glammed up for the holidays?  I wanted that to be my job.

It never has been.  I still don't know who the people are who do it.  If you know them, you should ask them if I can have a job.

Turns out the next best thing to drawing on store front windows is drawing on a chalkboard wall in your very own house!

One day I had a vision.  I wanted a whole wall in our house to be chalkboard.  The next day my very supportive husband helped me put that vision into reality. "A whole wall?"  He asked.  "The WHOLE wall and then we can write cute notes to each other," I replied.  The wall isn't really that big.  I wanted this to be an overnight project.  It was an entire week project.  So much waiting and anticipation!!!  I LOVE the end result though.

Seriously, this wall makes me so happy.  I love the stark black look.  I love the creativity that I feel wanting to spew all over it.  I love the endless possibilities.  I love this wall.

I know your next question, no we haven't shared cute messages on our wall yet.  I haven't been able to hand over the control chalk quite yet.

Maybe my next adventure will be storefront windows, but for now... this suites me just right!

Love it! What is lining a wall though?

Hey Christie! Wall liner is just a paint-able wallpaper basically. It's used to get rid of texture or to patch places in your wall that need smoothing. I bought this - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EMWO7G/ref=oh_o04_s00_i00_details

It worked perfectly!

Amber! My mom paints windows. And she is absolutely amazing! Next time you are in San Diego. . . give her a call. She would love to have an apprentice! :)
