Have I told you...

.... That I drink hot chocolate every day.  I can't get enough, it really hits the spot lately.

.... When Oliver gets hot at night he moves our bathroom rugs around to lay on the cool tile.  We always know if the heat was too high if we wake up to his little rearrangement.

.... I love these "Stork Parking" spots.  Genius.  Some places even have "Families with small children" parking.  Thank you very much.

.... How I told Ben we were having a baby? We had been working on making that happen for some time.  One day, on the exact day I knew I should be pregnant, I took a test.  It had a very light positive.  I didn't believe it, I mean I wanted the test to shout it at me or something! It didn't.  So I called the doctor, they sent me in for a blood test and left me on pins and needles for 24 hours to wait for results.  I hadn't told Ben.  I didn't want to get his hopes up for no reason and I didn't want to admit that it could ACTUALLY be happening if it wasn't.  I kept my cool and waited for the call.  The next day they called with some happy news!  "You're pregnant!" they said.  YIPEEEE!! Oliver and I went to work for the perfect way to tell him when he arrived home that day.  It was Rodeo season, and we were headed to the Canby Rodeo that evening so I guess the wild west was on my mind.

When Ben came home Oliver was in full Cowboy gear and wore a sign that had a Dad, Mom, dog + baby and read, "Means.... Maybe she will stop dressing ME up! Baby Walunas coming soon..."

Ben was thrilled, I was relieved to finally be able to talk to him about it and Oliver was excited that Ben saved him from being dressed up as a cowboy for too long.  That night we went to the rodeo with Matt and Brittany.  I wanted to shout our happy news from the stands. Instead I kept my mouth quiet and ate elephant ears :)

....  My sweet husband gifted me with a new animal print bracelet, a HUGE Brita water filter and the sweetest card I have ever read, for our 2 year anniversary.  Tears were in full flow.  I told him he bracelet will always remind me of our second year of marriage.  The water filter was genius and has saved our lives. Or at least saved the world one less water bottle at a time.  I refuse to drink our tap water, he is a really amazing gift giver and an even better husband.

.... Ben smoked an amazing turkey for Thanksgiving on the Treager with Apple flavored pellets.  We enjoyed one smoked and one oven roasted.  Both were delicious and worth eating WAY too much.  It was a fantastic family filled day.  I love Thanksgiving.   Also, we drove all the way to Canby with this turkey on my lap.  I took every ounce of self control to not rip off a leg and just give it a little taste test.

I remember not believing my first positive pregnancy test, either. I made my sister drive all the way from West Valley just to check to make sure I was reading it right. They SHOULD make ones that shout a yes or a no just to make things perfectly clear!! ;o) By the way, I love that picture of you and Ben at the rodeo!

Love how you told Ben about the pregnancy. I'm so impressed you didn't say anything right away. I can never keep my mouth shut even when I'm not sure.
