In the hospital

I have never spent much time in a hospital.  I have never stayed overnight.  Never had surgery or even a reason to be there for myself.  Before Maxwell, my time was limited to visiting family and friends   And then I had our sweet baby and I got to experience the doctors and nurses, the bed, the call button and the hospital food all for myself and I have to say, IT WAS WONDERFUL.  I kind of wanted to stay forever.  Imagine someone bringing you unlimited supplies of Cranberry Sprite drinks, refilling your water with that perfect pebble ice, bringing you pain medication and while they do all this they are asking what else they can do and telling you how awesome and strong you are.  Yes, thank you, I will stay forever.

Not that my sweet husband doesn't do all this, because he does, but in the hospital he got to enjoy it with me.  Bonus.  Seriously though, besides the horrible food, we had the greatest stay in the hospital   I didn't take near enough pictures of all the wonderful people who came to visit baby Max.  We felt so loved and we appreciate every single person who has shown us support and love.  We were truly blessed with such a healthy baby and can't thank the doctors, nurses, friends and family enough for reminding us how lucky we are.

Baby Max needed a picture with our awesome Dr. Dunnam.  She insisted I join them.  Oh the joy of looking 6 months pregnant after giving birth.  Regardless, I love this picture and this lovely lady.

Ah look at Michelle holding that tiny little baby Max.  She is a natural.

Deneal brought Max's future girlfriend Kennedy to the hospital right away.  Now we can literally say they have known each other since birth.  So fun!

Papa came up to love on Baby Max and talk about Man things.  Max seems to be enjoying himself.

Even OLIVER got to visit baby Max in the hospital!!! We were so excited when the nurses told us that with a current vaccination report from the vet we could bring in our sweet pup.  We missed him so very much and wanted him to meet his new friend right away.

Oliver was curious and so sweet with the baby.  He licked his feet and smelled his head.  At this moment he didn't realize how much his world was about to change.

Then he got bored.  He sat at the door hoping the cute nurses would come in and shower him with kisses.... or maybe we would just would take him home.

After many more visitors that I failed to take pictures of (dangit!!) and a flight in bringing Grandma to meet Max, we went home. We couldn't believe they were actually letting us take this little thing home!

I cried when we walked out of the room, I cried when we stepped on the elevator and I cried all the way to the car.  Darn those nostalgic pregnancy hormones.  Honestly, I had never been so happy.  And I have never cried so many happy tears in my life.

AHHH!!! We have a BABY!  What do we do now??!

We arrived and Max was safe and sound in his new home.  I was crying in this picture too.  A healthy baby in our very own home.  Blessed.  Tears of perfect joy.  We cannot get enough of this little bundle.

I have to say it again, we are so grateful for the amazing hospital staff, our great doctor, our awesome family, my mom for hopping on a plane the second this babe was born and for so many supportive family members and friends who came to visit, called, brought us gifts and meals and love and warm thoughts and big hugs.  Every single one of you are appreciated.  I can't say it enough, we are blessed.
